There is a reason to have hope

I saw something today that reassured me.

As my underground train alighted at Hyde Park Corner I saw a young woman lying on the ground with her large suitcase beside her - her head on a smaller day bag.

It was funny because she was not laying close to the seating but her upper half was swung out into the platform, her left hand to her brow.

From the train I wondered why someone would wait as if in an airport in an underground station. And I wondered who she could be waiting for and why she had been left alone.

And then it happened.

After many commuters had passed her by I saw a young black man stop and stoop down to check that she was all right. After he was nodded to he continued on his way.

How easy it would have been at 8.20am to have continued the hurry to work.

And how wonderful that the man had the thought to help someone who could have been in difficulty not worrying about the potential inconvenience it could have caused him.

This is just a thought. x
